While writing this story, a long rain was falling outside my window, just like the sudden rainstorm when Qi Yang and Qi Hao first met. The rain blurred the glass, but made the memory of youth clearer - those sultry afternoons stirred by the fan, the thoughts hidden on the back of the draft paper, and the courage to overcome prejudice, all turned into words flowing from the tip of the pen.
I always think that the most touching aspect of youth is perhaps the clumsy yet passionate approach of two souls. Qi Yang built a wall with reason, and Qi Hao attacked with recklessness and sincerity. They got to know each other through the quarrels in the debate, and resonated in the late-night chat on the rooftop. These plots are not fiction, but countless footnotes of "our" youth - those unspoken feelings, those cautious temptations, those courages to hold each other close to the world.
Someone asked me, why do I want to tell such a story? Because love is an eternal proposition for human beings, and gender has never been the boundary of love. Although we live in troubled times, we can love each other in troubled times. When Qi Hao walked firmly towards Qi Yang amidst the rumors, and when Qi Yang embraced Qi Hao's broken dream, what I saw was not only the romance of youth, but also the most authentic interpretation of love: it has nothing to do with worldly vision or conventional definitions, it is only about the integration and protection of two souls.
This story is dedicated to all those who have wandered and been brave in love. I hope that like Qi Yang and Qi Hao, we can all find the person who makes us willing to break all the shackles and say frankly "I hope you will be around in the future" over the long years.
