An accident brings Tan Yu and Shen Xiaoran together by mistake. Shen Xiaoran insists on dragging Tan Yu towards him despite Tan Yu's schizophrenia. Tan Yu gradually becomes dependent on Shen Xiaoran from the initial resistance. The two go from going to the toilet together after class to skipping class to watch the sea together. They make a wish on their 18th birthday and promise to be together forever. Later, Tan Yu had no choice but to study abroad. Shen Xiaoran gave up the college entrance examination to find Tan Yu, but suffered a coronary heart attack and was buried at sea in an accident. Six years later, Tan Yu returned to China to fulfill her promise. Unexpectedly, she received her death certificate, and she searched around to find someone. Knowing that the sea where Shen Xiaoran was buried was the place where they made their vows in high school, her spirit collapsed again. The strong sense of failure and despair caused Tan Yu to hallucinate and drove her to commit suicide by jumping into the sea. The broken mirror was never reunited, and the wish she made failed to come true.
