"Weeds grow in the cracks of rocks, and words are the vines I use to climb toward the light."
I am a failure.
Born in the poorest village in northern Jiangsu, kerosene lamps were still lit at home when I was a child. The primary school I attended was the only primary school in the village, and the junior high school was the second-to-last middle school in the county. After repeating the third year of junior high school, I barely entered an ordinary high school. Then I was admitted to a second school with the lowest standard, and studied a major that I couldn't find a job in.
After graduation, I came to Shanghai alone, worked as a merchandiser, taught myself interior design, and then worked as a draftsman for 2 years with a salary of 1,500 yuan/month, a design assistant for 1 year with a salary of 2,500 yuan/month, and a designer for 3 years with a salary of 3,000 yuan/month. In the days of poverty, steamed buns and pickles were the daily standard, and steamed buns were luxury goods. After being cheated on my project budget and even being molested countless times, I finally gave up on design and worked as an ordinary clerk in a factory.
I have no ambitions, I just want to live peacefully every day. However, God would not let me go just because I huddled in a corner of society: in the worst month, 4 mobile phones were stolen, and a bad landlord kicked me out in the middle of the night, so I had to sit on the bench of the police station all night; the rental house was demolished by the urban management, the boss did not pay wages for three months, and the company closed down; I suffered from severe depression + mania, followed by malignant thyroid cancer and chemotherapy.
Did you see that it is so difficult for poor people to live like ants?
I decided to write articles starting in 2025 because I want to change my life. I only have a pen, a notebook, and these 34 years of experience. The moment I picked up the pen, just like when I decided to do interior design, I was still full of love and sincerity, looking forward to a better future.
