Li Fuqing and Li Xu: Protection and bond spanning thousands of years
In the wind and snow at the head of Xiliang City, Li Fuqing, a female border guard, and Li Xu, a girl who has not yet fully transformed and is hiding deer ears, meet for the first time in a ruined temple. Li Fuqing named the girl "Li Xu", which means "the tenacity of taking root in the cracks of stones" and "the morning light that illuminates the night". He took her with him and changed her from "general" to "senior sister". He taught her how to draw a bow, ride a horse, and identify the enemy. The gentleness under the armor was only revealed to her.
The war on the border is intertwined with the undercurrent of Chang'an. The two work side by side to investigate the theft of secret letters, break into abandoned houses, fight assassins in black, and capture the behind-the-scenes masterminds. From the Xiliang battlefield to the palace of Chang'an, they have a tacit understanding. Li Fuqing once embarked on the path to immortality to protect the common people, sacrificing his eyes in exchange for the power of protection; Li Xu grew up to be the demon king while waiting, but grew hatred due to longing and misunderstanding. In the battle in Heaven, Li Xu sacrificed his life to protect Li Fuqing. Before Li Fuqing's soul died, he still protected her with residual thoughts, and finally reunited with his obsession and kindness.
Thousands of years have passed, and in a bookstore in a modern town, Li Fuqing is engaged in restoring ancient books, while Li Xu is guarding the shelves filled with books, and the two have regained their ordinary warmth. From the wild hawthorns in Xiliang and the jujube cakes in Chang'an to the modern hawthorn trees and fireflies, time has changed the appearance of the years, but it has not changed the hands they hold tightly. The flashes of swords and swords in the past turned into soft whispers under the lamp, spanning the bonds of life, death and thousands of years, and finally settled in the daily life of fireworks into the tenderness of "the years are long, but fortunately I have you".
