Friendship in youth is the whispers in the classroom in the afternoon, the stars counted side by side on the playground after evening self-study, and the notes of encouragement secretly stuffed into the desk when you fail in the exam. We once shared a pair of headphones and shared the same song, and the teacher caught us brawling in the hallway, advising each other on our childish crush. The rain we soaked in together, the lessons we skipped, and the little notes we passed around have all become the tenderest marks in time. Even though we were scattered in different cities later, as long as I think of the ice soda you handed me that summer and the ugly smile you drew in my textbook, I will feel that my youth has never gone far. A true friend is a young man who time cannot take away, and we who time cannot steal away.
Purpose: Reminiscing youth stories
