"The Light of June" is a youth novel about scars and redemption. It tells how two teenagers who were played by fate became each other's light in the darkness.
Xu Muyang is an top student who is envied by everyone and a champion in piano competitions. He lives in a perfect cage carefully created by his parents. Qi Han is a gloomy transfer student with scars all over his body and a harmonica with "5.21" Engraved on it. When they met in the storage room on a rainy day, Xu Muyang discovered that the scars on Qi Han's arms were strikingly similar to the pinholes on her mother's medical records.
From the forcibly shared lunch to the impromptu ensemble during the power outage, from the life and death moment in the convenience store to the burning graduation ceremony, the two scarred souls gradually get closer among the strings and bloodstains. When Xu Muyang discovered that their encounter actually stemmed from a fifteen-year musical genetic experiment, and when Qi Han found out the truth about his mother's disappearance and the evidence of Xu's father's crime, they had to make a choice between their wedding and their escape.
"When all the stars are extinguished, remember that you are the light." This period of youth, which began in 1999, will eventually be redeemed in the melody of "Light of June".
Intent: In the darkest scars, there is still the possibility of using music to redeem each other - when violence becomes an inherited gene, love is the only sound wave that can rewrite the code of fate.
