During his ordinary years in a small town, Gu Huaizhi thought that life would pass by step by step until he met Dan Mingxi. From the fights at the same table in junior high school to the inseparability after being divided into classes in ninth grade, the two developed an indescribable affection amidst the sea of topics and youthful restlessness. Gu Huaizhi wrote "Dang Mingxi" with poor calligraphy, but Mingxi hid obscure verses on the note; a playful kiss, a hug in the rain, all the undeclared love was eventually washed away by reality and cowardice.
After the high school entrance examination, Dan Mingxi went to Orienteering Teachers College and Gu Huaizhi entered high school. The two were repeatedly pulled between disconnection and reunion. Many years later, when Gu Huaizhi became Dan Mingxi's "non-staff teaching assistant", the answers to the unsolved mysteries of his boyhood - the poems on the blackboard, the blacklisted truths, the scars on his wrists - were revealed one by one.
This is a story about growth and regret, like the sycamore leaves falling all over the long street in a small town, gentle and sharp. Can they finally overcome the gap between fear and time? The answer is hidden in the silence between each other.
