After the death of Uncle Xia Yu, she had an affair with Kong Ning, Yi Xing's father and the king Chen Linggong of Chen State. As a result, Chen Linggong was killed and Chen State was destroyed by Chu. Xia Ji was kidnapped to the State of Chu. King Zhuang of Chu wanted to accept her as his concubine, but was dissuaded by the sorcerer. She later married Mr. Yin Xiang, a Lian of the state of Chu. After Mr. Xiang died in battle, he was possessed by Mr. Xiang's son, Hei Yao. In the end, in order to marry Xia Ji, the wizard planned to elope with her to the Jin Dynasty. This dispute caused Wu Chen's family in Chu to be exterminated. In order to retaliate against Chu, Wu Chen taught military technology to Wu and helped Wu rise. Successively, nine officials died because of her, the State of Chen was destroyed, and the State of Chu fell into civil strife because of her. Later generations had mixed opinions on her. Some people denounced her as a beauty, while others thought she was a victim of fate in a patriarchal society.
