The chirping of cicadas marks the eighth year of midsummer, and the loquat trees in Wutong Lane have formed red threads of fate in the heavy rain. Seven-year-old Xia Yan ran into Lu Xingye's umbrella with a cardboard box in hand, and the silver chain on the sixteen-year-old boy's wrist shattered the rain curtain. From then on, the basketball boy on the drawing paper, the ice-cold soda hidden on the rooftop, and the love letter hidden in the cicada's slough have all become Midsummer Night specimens that I dare not touch. Seventeen-year-old Lu Xingye was like a scorching fire. When he played "Hotel California" in the auditorium, he deliberately plucked the wrong chords just to look up at the young man sketching backstage. He taught Xia Yan to play "Ode to Joy" using sycamore leaves, but when his lower back was burned and ulcerated, he bit the corner of the other person's clothes and groaned: "Don't look at me... I'm too ugly." Those unfinished sentences suddenly collapsed on a rainy night - when the equity agreement in the dark room of the Lu family study was exposed, Lu Xingye pressed Xia Yan against the mixing table and kissed him: "Now that I am a lost dog, do you want the young painter to take him in?" In the past seven years, the Berlin Museum's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" caused a sensation in Europe. In the painting, the boy's collarbone is filled with moonlight, and the scar on his lower back turns into roses and thorns. On the day of the opening ceremony, the missing pianist suddenly appeared. His fingertips touched the moist eyelashes of the person in the painting: "It's time for the blue wind chime hidden in the hole of the sycamore tree to ring." On a rainy night when he was dissecting the past, 28-year-old Xia Yan finally discovered the secret of the cicada specimen. In the secret-translucent body, seventeen-year-old Lu Xingye wrote in pencil: "When the little mushroom grows up, take him to elope to the end of the tide." From school uniform buttons to suit cufflinks, two souls cut apart by time finally embraced each other in the burned ashes. Those unspeakable "summer", "stars" and "youthful heart" eventually became the rhymes in the same poem.
