Introduction to the work
"The Unfinished Dance" tells the story of modern dance choreographer Zhou Qinglan's accidental discovery of a dancer's diary from 1953, which reveals the tragic past of dancer Shen Mobai and his partner Lin Yuqing during the Republic of China. Shen Mobai's undisclosed love affair led to Lin Yuqing's accidental death. After that, he retired with guilt until he met Zhou Qinglan in his later years. Under the guidance of Shen Mobai, Zhou Qinglan put the unfinished dance "Unfinished Dance" on the stage. In the process, she gradually understood the emotional bonds and artistic pursuits of the two generations of dancers. Through the inheritance of dance, the story connects love and regret across time and space, and explores the eternal themes of memory, redemption and art.
