Shen Huaiyu, a 28-year-old university teacher, was grading student papers when he received the life-changing phone call. The cold voice of the hospital announced his farewell to his lover Chu Ci - a car accident took away the tall man who always loved to hug him from behind.
Shen Huaiyu's world collapsed at that moment. He hid his broken heart and maintained his dignity in front of everyone, but he broke down and cried bitterly every night while hugging the shirt left by Chu Ci. When sleeping pills failed to bring peace, he chose to follow his lover, but was rescued by his best friend. On the verge of death, he vaguely saw Chu Ci standing in the corner of the ward, saying "go back."
After being discharged from the hospital, Chu Ci's soul really began to appear. He told Shen Huaiyu: Only the deepest obsession can make the deceased stay for a short time. When Shen Huaiyu discovered Chu Ci's carefully prepared Dutch wedding plan in the study room - air tickets, church appointments and handwritten proposal letters, he decided to complete the unfinished wedding alone.
In the old church in Amsterdam, the sunlight illuminates Shen Huaiyu's lonely figure through the colored windows. He exchanged rings in the air and completed the grandest farewell in a place where no one witnessed. After returning to China, he began to learn to live with pain: sorting out the belongings does not mean forgetting, and keeping the wedding ring can also embrace new life.
Purpose: Cherish life and live in the present
