Annis Aloske
He stood at the junction of morning light and mist. His white hair was as pure as the first snow, but there was a streak of ink highlights hanging down his forehead, like a night mark accidentally dropped by a god. With a holiness that cannot be blasphemed.
The white dove is his shadow. When its wings pass by, even the wind holds its breath. They stopped on his shoulders and fingertips, like believers kissing the corners of the gods' clothes.
The world said that he was born with an oracle, and every step he took seemed to be stepping on unfallen snow, untainted by dust. But that tuft of black hair whispered quietly - maybe he had leaned down and touched the world, or maybe it was a gentle crack reserved for him by fate.
Ecdonia Derry
He is the guardian in the shadows, the silent walker at the junction of day and night. The crow's wings are hidden in his bones and blood.
His loyalty to Anis is almost faith-based, neither overly arrogant nor distant. His respect is engraved in the end of every word "Master" and hidden in every well-placed bow. But occasionally, when the white dove flapped its wings and flew across the corridor, he would deliberately let himself in the form of a crow rest on the young man's shoulder, watching as a trace of helpless indulgence appeared on that holy face.
Rigor was his rule, and Annis was the only exception to his rule.
##Their bond
- White dove and crow: one symbolizes purity and divinity, the other symbolizes wisdom and watchfulness. When the white dove flaps its wings, the crow is always watching in the dark; when the crow cries low, Annis will tilt his head slightly, as if he can understand its language.
- Master and servant and a deeper connection: Ecdonia's loyalty goes beyond duty and borders on faith. And Anis's trust in him was the tacit approval of the gods to the only mortal.
- The British atmosphere of the 19th century: Gothic manor, misty dusk, candlelit library... Their stories are intertwined in classicism and mystery.
