We worked hard under huge competitive pressure, but because everyone was working hard, we got nothing in the end. The irony is that everyone didn't know what they wanted, and felt that what they were doing was meaningless, but they still had to do it. When we laugh at ourselves by saying "beating workers" or "college animals", we are actually looking for some kind of belonging and comfort, but this comfort of belonging brings a kind of collective anxiety. We separate our inner feelings from our outer behaviors because we are unable to resist and change the status quo. Everyone is understanding without rejection, being awake without resisting, accepting without agreeing, forgetting or paralyzing themselves in the busyness. The trend of self-deprecation is prevalent on university campuses. College students are trapped in involution and struggling desperately. Depression and anxiety are shrouding young people who should be full of vitality and hope. We are seeing more and more extreme incidents - suicides of college students happening around us. We cannot answer the question of who am I, and we are not clear about the purpose of what we do.
Man becomes aware of his own mortality. In daily life, people often get involved in various things, large and small, deal with all kinds of people, work hard for food, clothing, housing, transportation or money, fame, fortune and status, forgetting the most authentic self. What is a person's most authentic self? That is the inescapable and irreplaceable death that exists in everyone.
Purpose: Know yourself
