When the Heat Death Protocol drags civilization into quantum winter, top programmer Shen Ye is forced to sign a contract with two unconventional life forms - Silver Gradient Snowball, a biological cat with a salvation code etched in its spine; and Lin Xia, a quantum engineer with Snowball's genetic code beating in his mechanical heart.
Snowball's deciduous teeth are the key to rewriting the rules of the universe, and Lin Xia's mechanical eyes are being implanted with a clearing program by Zero Point Company. In order to crack the doomsday equation, Shen Ye embedded the temperature regulating valve into Lin Xia's chest, and the constant-temperature blood of 39.2°C became the recursive code they shared. When the snowball exploded its fluff to block the pursuers, and the tip of its tail stepped on the console to produce the Morse code of "Für Elise", all the codes began to riot:
Lin Xia's quantized arm oozed the same fluorescent green blood as Shen Ye, and the 127th cup of coffee spilled by the snowball spelled out the mentor's warning before his death - "Love is a fatal flaw that cannot be sealed by the algorithm."
They agreed: If civilization eventually needs to be restarted, a spring that allows embracing must grow on the ruins. There, Snowball's snoring will turn into AI's morning broadcast, Lin Xia's mechanical heartbeat will replace the body temperature valve that shuts down in the middle of the night, and all the deleted tenderness is hidden in the quantum folds of dandelion seeds.
Concept: Love is the most perfect recursive equation of the universe, and all cold technologies will eventually give up variables to the heartbeat.
