The blood moon is in the sky, and the black tide is coming again.
The ruined noble Arya awakens the dying dragon Ironscale and is forced to bear the fate of killing gods. The orc Garro competes with the soul-eating battle ax for life and death, the dwarf Druk smelts forbidden runes, and the elf Selanwe sacrifices light and falls into eternal night. They tore apart the hypocritical holy flag of the Holy See and broke into the dragon burial ground, only to find that the black tide was actually the result of the dragon knight's dismemberment of the dragon god thousands of years ago - the method of killing gods required the dragon knight's soul as a sacrifice.
Ten years later, the Dark Moon rises again. The dragon egg in Arya's arms cracked out of a silver dragon, but the curse of the Lord of the Black Tide surged in its pupils; Garro's shaman bone staff could not suppress the roar of the ancestors in the battle axe; underground in Druk's Rune Academy, the Pope's brand was glowing with blood on the back of the corpse's hand. When the silver dragon flames burned down the skeleton army of the new Holy See, Arya pierced the heart with the god-killing gun, and turned the scales back into a new tree of life to take root in the scorched earth——
Glory is soaked in lies, redemption and damnation come from the same source?.
The orcs sank their battle axes into the soul-washing fountain, the dwarves carved the god-killing runes into the textbooks, and the elven shadow beasts huddled in the tree roots and waited for the dawn. There is no epic poem to sing the name of the hero, only the traces carved on the rock wall before the remaining snow in the wind swept over the iron scales and dissipated:
"We break the cycle at the cost of becoming the cycle itself."
