There are three items gathering dust in the Astronomical Society's archives:
1. Burnt "Mesier's Celestial Encyclopedia"
2. Bruised wrists that appear repeatedly in surveillance videos
3. Two physics test papers posted side by side on the back of the cultural festival poster
The story of Su Chen and Lu Xingye began on a dusk when a single pendulum swayed, and ended on a rainy night when the Maybach crushed the star tracker.
When they observed Venus conjunct the moon with an old-fashioned telescope on the rooftop, the camera accidentally recorded the figure of the adoptive father's secretary; when the photo of the lady in the fire report appeared in Lu Xingye's wallet, Su Chen realized that those precision-drawn star maps were just scars made by the teenager on the custody documents.
They used rusty telescopes to focus on Venus and the moon, but they didn't know that someone had already pointed the lens at the young man's intertwined fingertips.
When the star track lights of the cultural festival were smashed, Su Chen saw clearly the Milky Way in Lu Xingye's eyes in the firelight - it was a gentle and violent universe composed of pills, custody lawsuits and starlight 1,344 light-years away.
