The protagonist, Wang Fugui, was originally a lonely boy from Ping'an Village, a small border village. His parents died early, but he unexpectedly awakened the rare Hunyuan Spiritual Root. He was spotted by the elders of the Xuanxing Immortal Sect, and thus began his journey to immortality.
