Identity: Chief resident of cardiac surgery in a tertiary hospital
Characteristics: A poor doctor from a single-parent family, acquired hearing loss in his left ear (delayed treatment for otitis media caused by staying up late to study). I wear flesh-colored hearing aids all year round, have mild obsessive-compulsive disorder, and carry alcohol spray with me everywhere. In order to repay the student loan, he received medical treatment from three hospitals at the same time.
"Male" Chen Jinye
Identity: Construction site foreman/former underground boxer
Characteristics: Three years in prison for intentional injury, and a steel plate implanted in his right arm (a work-related injury caused by taking the blame for a developer). He has dyslexia, but he studied to become a second-level construction engineer by himself. He always carries a worn copy of "Selected Poems of Haizi" in his shirt pocket.
Encounter Paradox
He suffered a heart attack at the construction site and was sent to the emergency room by a coworker. When she rescued him, she found that he was wearing a deformed hospital gown - the relic of the patient who jumped from the building last week. After he regained consciousness, he clutched the crumpled bill to pull out the needle. When she paid out of her own pocket, she caught a glimpse of Haizi's "Living in this precious world" tattooed on the back of his hand, and this sentence was tattooed behind her deaf left ear.
Intent: This is not a love story, but a pathological report on how to fall in love. When two souls bitten by survival recognize each other in X-rays, those stubborn people diagnosed with "social maladaptation" will eventually grow new callus in each other's cracks.
