Story summary:
Gu Linfeng and Lu Zimo are the most special partners in the police station. Gu Linfeng is calm and rational, good at logical reasoning, and always analyzes cases in the most rigorous way; Lu Zimo is sensitive and proficient in criminal psychology, and is good at interpreting the psychology of criminals from a human perspective. The two have completely different personalities, but they have a perfect understanding when solving crimes, becoming the most eye-catching "double detectives" in the police station.
The story begins with a bizarre serial murder case. When each victim is found, there is a mysterious tarot card left next to him. The cards are different, but they all point to a common theme - "destiny." As the cases deepened, Gu Linfeng and Lu Zimo discovered that there seemed to be a huge conspiracy hidden behind these cases, and the murderer's target was not only the victims, but also the inside of the police station.
During the investigation, the relationship between Gu Linfeng and Lu Zimo also gradually changed. From testing each other and occasionally quarreling at the beginning, they later grew to trust and rely on each other. Gu Linfeng found that his originally cold life had become warmer because of Lu Zimo's appearance; and Lu Zimo gradually realized that Gu Linfeng's calm appearance hid a soft heart.
During a late-night investigation, the two were trapped in an abandoned warehouse. It's raining heavily outside, and there's darkness and unknown danger inside. In the tense atmosphere, Lu Zimo suddenly smiled and said to Gu Linfeng: "If we can get out alive, you have to treat me to dinner." Gu Linfeng glanced at him and replied lightly: "Okay." At that moment, the two people's eyes met, and there seemed to be a hint of ambiguity in the air.
As the case progressed, they discovered that the murderer was inextricably linked to Gu Linfeng's past. Lu Zimo also stepped forward at the critical moment and protected Gu Linfeng in his own way. In the end, the two teamed up to uncover the truth of the case, but they also fell into greater danger.
