The story is set in a fictional continent with multiple city-states, which sometimes coexist peacefully and sometimes are at war with each other. The city-state is divided into three classes: nobles, commoners and slaves. The nobles control a lot of wealth and power, the commoners work hard to make a living, and the slaves are at the bottom of society and suffer cruel exploitation. In this world, magic is a mysterious and powerful force that only a few people can master.
