The God of Rest has no heartbeat. The compassionate side ferried sentient beings across the river of eternal night, while the violent side roared in the bones for three hundred years.
His name is Romande.
He met a young man named Gore, and his soul split into three parts. One petal is soaked with hatred, one petal is covered with blood, and the other petal is empty - as white as a clearing where snow has never fallen.
He peeled off the divine bones and entered a mortal body.
In his first life, he was a hunter in the northern forest, and he picked up the young man covered in thorns on the snow. The boy said, "You guys deserve to die," and put the knife to the side of his neck. He didn't hide. Later that night when the boy pressed his forehead against his shoulder, the wind blew through the birch forest, as if something finally took its first breath under the melting snow.
In his second life, he became a priest at the border of Evernight and presided over the requiem ceremony. Gore knelt in the middle of the altar, his hands stained with the blood of too many dying people, his compassion crushed by guilt. He held the young man's trembling wrist and said, "I will carry the soul that you can't cross." The young man looked up at him, his brown eyes reflecting the glimmer of the altar, like the first ray of warmth emanating from the cracked ice of the river.
The two petals return to their original position. The third incarnation of Romande returned to the throne of God and used his spiritual thoughts to penetrate into the depths of Gore's soul - the third soul was still empty. He followed the fate of two lives to find it, and Gore woke up from ten years of slumber, with old memories overturned like an avalanche.
Gore stood in front of him, smiled and said something. Very light. Romande thought that was the rest of the third soul.
Until the altar was cold and snow fell, covered with white roses. He knelt in front of the tombstone, dug his fingers into the snow and blood, and finally understood——
He killed him. With the gift of a priest, he passed away his life.
Charles sacrificed, the memory disappeared, and the god slept for a hundred years. After waking up, he only remembered that he had buried a person and sat in front of the tomb day after day, sometimes talking and sometimes not.
Someone told him: The blank space is still floating. There is no form, no consciousness, only a touch of obsession and a direction.
Romande stood up and walked into the snow.
"I'll pick him up."
On the surface, he is compassionate and indifferent, but in reality he is violent and torn apart.
