The Gu Directory was accidentally obtained by the author from the beams of a side house in a village when he was traveling in the mountains. The original book was too badly damaged and some parts were completely destroyed when he took it out. Only some were left. After asking the locals, he learned some related legends.
It is said that the Gu Directory was compiled by Dugu Sunyan, who loved to travel around the world to inquire about anecdotes and record them one by one.
