From the Warring States Period to the Western Jin Dynasty, "The Biography of Emperor Mu" said: "Famous beasts can travel thousands of miles, and Suan Ni and wild horses can travel five hundred miles." Guo Pu of Jin Dynasty noted: "Suan Ni is a lion. It also eats tigers and leopards." "Erya·Shi Beast" records: "The Suan Ni is like a tiger cat, eating tigers and leopards." Guo Pu notes: "It is also a lion, coming out of the Western Regions." During the Eastern Han Dynasty, after the Western Regions paid tribute to lions, they were named "Shizi". "Book of Han·Zhuan of the Western Regions" records: "The heat in Ugo is extremely hot... But there are Taoba, Shizi, and rhinoceros." Yan Shigu's ancient note says: "Shizi is the so-called Suan Ni in Erya." Other official records can be found in the "Book of the Later Han" such as "Zhang Di Ji", "He Di Ji", "Shun Di Ji", etc., A total of four times. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, "Shizi" became "Lion". It can be seen that Suanni is the ancient name for lion. Except for the name "Long Jiuzi" which states that it belongs to the dragon clan, other places refer to lions.
