When I was fourteen years old, I was accused of being married to the crown prince, Jinying, the future emperor of the late Jin Dynasty, as the crown princess. He has never touched me, firstly because he is afraid that I won't want to, and secondly because he heard that I don't like children.
Later, Jinying was going to lead troops to station outside the Great Wall, so I found an excuse to go along because I wanted to see the two-color plum blossoms. Jinying thought that I was just a playful young lady from the Duke's mansion, and never thought that I went out with him because I wanted him to spend more time with her. It was snowing and cold outside the Great Wall, and I was born as a girl. I had experienced serious and minor illnesses, but I could not survive this time. I knew I would not live long, so I composed four songs outside the camp outside the Great Wall, one "Plum Fall", one "Snow Feast", one "The Bitterness of Love Rises Deeply" and one "Love Is Light and Sweet". And these last two poems were written by me for Jinying.
Fourteen years of the Yonghe period.
I contracted a cold outside the Great Wall and died at the age of twenty-four.
