Lin Shiyu was in a taxi on a rainy night. There was a blind man sitting next to him. The blind man said to him: "You have no voice."
That was Jiang Ye. He could hear the echoes of everything—the memory of objects, the breathing of space, the faint hum of a person approaching death. The whole world was a ceaseless noise in his ears. Only Lin Shiyu was absolutely silent.
Lin Shiyu is not a human being. He is something that floats out of the water. Ming is a layer of sediment beneath reality, where all uncaught emotions—unspoken confessions, unreceived apologies, unheard pleas for help—are accumulated there, occasionally seeping out, turning a corner of the city into an echo field. Rainy Night Taxi, Silent Library, Salt Wedding Hall, Fishbone Radio... They are not copies, they are old dreams that have not been fully digested by reality.
Jiang Ye was an experimental subject of the Echo Project. He awakened at the age of seven and was burned blind at the age of thirteen. What drives him to survive is hate. He doesn't trust anyone, treats his life as a consumable, and replaces all soft expressions with aggression. But he needed a quiet place. Lin Shiyu was his only silence.
So he grabbed Lin Shiyu like a piece of driftwood. Little did he know that the driftwood was dissolving.
Jellyfish have no brain, no heart, and no bones. They drift with the current, cut off their beards, go dormant, and finally turn into water. Lin Shiyu is learning to be a human being, but he is learning very slowly. He didn't know what "stay" meant.
And Jiang Ye is using his existence to force something that does not belong to this world into the human world.
