"Excuse me," I said to the strange boy, "What would you like to drink?"
The boy had been playing with his phone with his head down. When someone asked him, he raised his head from the phone and met my eyes.
"Are you asking me?"
Now I could see his face clearly. His skin was white and somewhat transparent, with deep eye sockets under his sharp eyebrows, and a mole on the tip of his nose.
"Yes, do you want ice water or a drink? The drinks include Sprite, Coke, Fanta, coconut water and milk." I recited my daily fixed lines like a repeater.
"Is there warm water? I have a stomach problem."
Later, after we got together, I often laughed at him, never mentioning that I had any illness.
At that time, he looked into my eyes, and he said, "My mind was blank at the time, but my first instinct was that I couldn't hide anything from her."
I looked into his eyes, smiled and crawled into his arms.
