Feminism in the World - a Brief Discussion of Wu Zetian

For thousands of years in China's history, men have always occupied the position of supreme ruler, the emperor. Even though there are many empresses, queen mothers and others who listen to the affairs behind the curtain and control the court, there is a puppet emperor behind them, and they still have to use the emperor's mouth to implement their political ambitions. But in the Tang Dynasty, there appeared a woman who dared to challenge the powerful feudal etiquette system. For more than a thousand years, she has been talked about by men and regarded as a classic role model by women. During her reign as emperor, she was politically enlightened, knew people well and made good use of them, had social stability and economic development, but at the same time she had many shortcomings such as killing her children, reusing cruel officials, harsh punishments, and many unjust prisons. She was a contradictory combination of gentleness and severity, enlightenment and ruthlessness. People still debate her merits and demerits throughout the history. She is the only female emperor and empress in Chinese history - Wu Zetian.
