The Han family runs a ship repair shop and Pingcheng boat shop in the east of Maiyuqiao. It is a middle-class family. The eldest daughter Yunxi and her father Ding Youshou are engaged in Tusong, the second company of Tujia, a prominent family in their hometown, to get married. Suddenly Tu Song died suddenly. Mr. Tu was a conservative man who advocated Neo-Confucianism and wanted Yunxi to pass away and become a widow. The Han family found out that the cause of death was caused by Tu Song's love for the maid, so they refused to send their daughter to be a widow, and the two families became enemies. Yun Xi and his younger brother Jing Xi came up with a way to remove the firepower and secretly went to Taoyedu to stop Tu Ji, the eldest son of the Tu family, a high-ranking official in the imperial court, who was returning from the funeral, to break off their engagement. Tu Jiming went south to attend a funeral, but actually came south to track a spy from the Wolf Kingdom. On the way, he had a series of misunderstandings with his two brothers and sisters. Later, the Tu family took the initiative to break off the engagement.
Yunxi Fanzhai borrowed the "Ship Illustrated Book", and Tu Ji followed the Wolf Kingdom spy and rescued Yunxi without her knowledge. In order to lure out the spies, Tu Ji concealed his identity and moved into a Korean house, which caused Yunxi's displeasure and various misunderstandings. Yunxi was insulted by Tu's family and criticized by his slanderous neighbors for breaking the engagement, and was very disappointed with the traditional marriage ordered by his parents. Tu Ji saw this and apologized for his parents' behavior and wanted to do something to redeem her but was unable to do so. Suddenly there was thunder, and the Han family was ransacked by the government. All their property and books were confiscated. The old couple, Jingxi and Yanxi were all imprisoned. Yunxi was rescued by Tu Ji at Pingcheng Shipyard with his books. From then on, the gears of fate began to turn. It is a story about several young people who, with their family and country's love and hatred, slowly felt, took responsibility, loved and grew up amidst political turmoil and confrontation between ourselves and the enemy.
