In the 21st year of the Republic of China, Zhilin received an organizational assignment and went to Nanjing. He met Chen Jingshan, a young man from a wealthy family, by the Qinhuai River where people sang and sang every night.
In a precarious era, the current situation is turbulent and war is raging. Faced with Chen Jingshan's love, Zhilin, who had a heavy responsibility, never said the words: "I love you."
Later, Chen Jingshan said goodbye to him: "Zhilin, when I come back, when the war is over, will you marry me?"
In the twenty-sixth year of the Republic of China, war broke out in Shanghai. None of the first batch of pilots trained by the Nationalist Government survived.
In February of 1950, Zhilin became ill due to depression and died in Beijing. She opened her eyes in a haze and saw the Qinhuai River flowing in front of her eyes.
No matter how the dynasties change, the Qinhuai River always flows. As a witness of time, it flows softly through the rise and fall of the Ming Dynasty, the ups and downs of the Qing Dynasty, and the blood of modern times, and finally converges into a touch of red rising on the river surface of New China.
Zhilin and Chen Jingshan met on this land where the Qinhuai River meanders.
Battles may be broken, but the Qinhuai River has never been silent; those who love each other will never miss it again.
The unspoken words of "I love you", the love hidden in each other's eyes for a long time, were blown away in the wind and rain, and after decades of separation, they condensed in the mist above the Qinhuai anchorage.
Finally, we came to each other again.
Zhilin felt familiar with the man the first time he saw him, as if we were destined to fall in love with each other.
"I will always love you regardless of past or present life."
Intention: Even if I travel through time and space, it will only be you.
