[A note before you begin] The full manuscript is complete, and I’m currently revising it. Read with confidence! Updates every night at 9:00.
Jun Muze, the Jun family’s famously discarded son. His daily routine: pretend to be useless, sleep in the woodshed, and crash his older brother’s wedding.
He crashed and crashed until he brought out a demon lord in red.
The man stood in the rain without an umbrella. When he saw Jun Muze, he opened his mouth and called, “A Yan.”
Jun Muze: Who? You mean me? No way, you’ve got the wrong person, right?
But the demon lord simply hauled him back to his residence and settled him in Bamboo Shadow Court. It was filled with the formation diagrams he liked. The man even knew that he had a sweet tooth, which shop’s glutinous rice cakes he liked best, and that he hated taking medicine.
Jun Muze was rattled. This was terrifying.
So he asked what he didn’t understand. “What are you to me?”
The demon lord: “...”
Jun Muze: “Are you treating me as a substitute?”
The demon lord: “...”
Jun Muze: “The dead should be laid to rest.”
The demon lord: “Why should they?!”
Jun Muze: ???
Later, he learned the demon wasn’t just acting aloof. He really couldn’t speak. He had simply stewed “six hundred years” into a bowl of mung bean soup.
The soup was so sweet it turned bitter, because it was mixed with his blood essence.
Jun Muze finished it and scrunched up his face. “It’s awful.”
The demon lord: “You’ve already had it. Don’t waste it.”
Later, the Jun family caused trouble, tricking him into returning for the ancestral rites and pinning the theft of the Cuihua Pearl on him. With witnesses and evidence against him, they locked him in a demon-binding formation, his white robes stained with blood.
The demon lord arrived.
Jun Muze looked up with an expression that said, “You’re finally here,” and said:
“What took you so long? If you’d been any later, you needn’t have come at all.”
One sentence. Six hundred years.
He said: I’ll return your undying bones to you.
He said: I’ll give you back the heart I owe you.
The full manuscript is complete. I won’t abandon it, and the further you read, the better it gets. A paradise for detail lovers.
[Reading guide]
◆ The top remembers every detail of their past life. The bottom has forgotten everything, but his body reacts instinctively: his heart races when he touches the top’s weapon, and he unconsciously shields the top.
◆ Memorable scenes: a sword hidden in the bridal sedan, bathing together in the River of the Dead, a blood-written marriage contract, a phoenix-tail flower on the collarbone.
◆ The angst: “I fought so hard to make you forget your past life, then hated you for truly forgetting.”
“Mumu, I won’t force you, but I’ll wait, just as I have for these six hundred years.”
Theme: When love becomes a habit, even lost memories can’t stop me from running to you.
