The background of the story is based on the city of Chang'an in troubled times. It uses the mouse (the female protagonist) to find her parents as a clue and tells the story from a third perspective of Shen Hejing (the male protagonist) from the former young man in bright clothes to an angry horse and finally became a death row prisoner. The mouse destroyed a face and took on the identity of a death row prisoner and risked his life to rescue Shen Hejing from prison.
