In 1845, Mr. Radcliffe, the owner of Littlefield Manor, brought back a ragged, dirty black-haired Chinese girl from the streets of Liverpool, called her after his daughter who died in infancy, Eleanor, and raised her with his own child.

In 1875, Littlefield was burned down. The body of the male owner was not found, but the bones of a woman were found in the cellar. They took her out, and as soon as they saw the sky, the bones turned into a pile of dust.
