I liked Gu Cheng's prose when I was in school. His prose made me feel clear, sad and quiet. Later we found out that he was on an island in Europe, married his wife and then himself.

He moved to an uninhabited island in pursuit of a utopia of beauty and purity, thinking that living with a loving person would be quiet and beautiful. However, it was his greed that led to an affair first, and he asked his wife to tolerate him with great love.
