A hunter missed the best time to go down the mountain because he was hiding from the rain. It was already night when the rain stopped, and his wife and children were still waiting for him at home. He decided to take the risk and walk alone in the dark forest.
Suddenly, he saw a black shadow not far away. He was sure that it was a living creature. It was lying on the ground and had two shining eyes.
The hunter tightened his grip on the shotgun. He wanted to get rid of the beast before it was noticed. But then he desperately discovered that when he moved, the beast also moved. When he stopped, the beast also stopped.
He hesitated and rushed forward, holding the gun to fight the wild beast.
The moon came out, and the hunter stopped. He found that in front of him was a sparkling pool of water. The beast-like black shadow he saw was just his own reflection.
He breathed a sigh of relief and let down his guard completely. Little did he know that the beast was already lurking behind him. It knocked him to the ground and bit his neck.
The beasts live by the water and only come out to hunt at night, because humans who are not used to the dark night are sensitive and suspicious, but as long as they see familiar things, they will relax their vigilance.
In the wilderness, such relaxation can be fatal.
