In the Xinhua Dictionary revised in 1998, there is this sentence about the word "future": Zhang Hua was admitted to Peking University, Li Ping entered a technical secondary school, and I worked as a salesperson in a department store. We all have a bright future! (Excerpted from page 673 of the 1998 edition of Xinhua Dictionary)
Nineteen years later, in 2017, I was 16 years old and graduated from high school. I was born in a small mountain village in Shimen County, Hunan Province, and grew up in an ordinary peasant family in the countryside. In the countryside, I am the son of a farmer. Not going to college means that being a farmer will undoubtedly become my social identity and will most likely remain with me throughout my life.
After just 4 years, the time has come to 2021, when I am 20 years old. This year, I relied on my own efforts and met with good luck: I earned money and bought my first luxury car. This is a very remarkable thing for a farmer who has never attended college, and it is undoubtedly of great significance in my life.
Now, I couldn't help but stop moving forward, turned around, looked back and re-examined everything that had happened behind me. In my eyes, I seemed to see the old Siddhartha standing on the ferry: he was staring closely at the calm river flowing day and night; he was quietly listening to the whimpering sound of the river that kept flowing forward. This is the Wanderer's Song by Hermann Hesse - I seem to hear Siddhartha whispering in my ear again with the sobbing of the river: Life is an experience that needs to be experienced by yourself, and only you can experience it!
Intention: Struggle, Think, Move forward
