Zephyrus, the West Wind, unexpectedly received a prophecy from a nymph.
It said that he would become a rival in love to Apollo, god of light, and would therefore cause the death of Hyacinthus.
Zephyrus panicked.
I’m just a minor god who blows wind around wherever I go. How am I supposed to beat Apollo?
Goddesses of Fate, please leave me out of this.
Let the River Styx bear witness: I have absolutely no improper thoughts about Hyacinthus.
But Apollo, the most handsome god on Olympus…
Ahem, he does look like a gay man.
So fussy about cleanliness, so delicate…
Eros and I have suspected it for ages!
Until the day Apollo’s tearful blue eyes turned toward Zephyrus.
Zephyrus: I’m gay, gay is me. Heh heh.

Notes and content warnings:
1. In the original Roman mythology, Flora, goddess of flowers, is the lover or wife of Zephyrus, the West Wind. She is the nymph Chloris, transformed after Zephyrus embraces her. She will still appear in this story, but the fanfic plot calls for a different version of events.
2. The male leads are Zephyrus × Apollo, and they are versatile. Zephyrus comes across as more submissive in the parts of their story that can be shown, but they are versatile in their established relationship.
3. Daphne appears in the story, but she is no longer Apollo’s lover. The author has a soft spot for Daphne, but the plot requires this change. I hope you understand.
4. Side couple: Eros × Psyche. Their story broadly follows the same events as Cupid and Psyche’s, with some changes.
5. There is pregnancy and childbirth, with an unconventional method due to the mythological setting.
6. Given the unusual mythological setting, some characters’ actions will not be judged too harshly on moral grounds. This does not reflect the moral stance of the protagonist or the author.
7. The protagonist is shown being close to Hyacinthus and giving him gifts. Please understand that to the gods, humans are more or less like little animals. It’s like liking cats and buying things for them.
8. This is fanfiction, so it will not follow the original story exactly. The original mythological world and characters have also been changed and reimagined. If there’s anything you can’t accept, please leave a comment to let me know. I’ll add a warning as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding.
