"The Sutra" says: There is a strange beast in the southern valley, named tapir, with the trunk of an elephant and the eyes of a rhinoceros, the tail of an ox and the feet of a tiger. It sleeps on its skin to ward off plague and uses its shape to ward off evil spirits.
Si Ye once had a little beast like this.
