In order to protect his genius student Lorita from the villain, the doctor opened a portal across time and space, but mistakenly transported her to a parallel world occupied by super mechanical life forms.
Lorita stayed in the parallel world for a full ten years. She helped the super mechanical life forms repair their bodies and fought against the hunters who were chasing them.
After the doctor killed the villain, he used the Eye of Time to find Lorita and brought her back to Queens, New York City, USA.
Then, with the help of the doctor, Loretta invented a watch that summoned super mechanical life forms, and was intentionally sent to Midtown Science and Technology High School by her mentor, becoming Spider-Man's classmate.
