Playwright Mu Junzhu, who works diligently in the British theater industry, traveled back to the capital in the late Qing Dynasty on the eve of the rehearsal of his work. After becoming the Queen's English teacher, she met Yin Cisheng, a eunuch with low self-esteem and sensitivity. The respect and tolerance brought by Mu Junzhu and the unique classic drama works one after another continue to impact Yin Cisheng's riddled inner world. Yin Cisheng, struggling with past trauma and constant mental pain, met for the first time the girl who could fully accept him and give him guidance.
Disclaimer:
The male protagonist, a real eunuch, is just a marginalized group trying to survive in the pyramid-like walled society. He has suffered severe mental trauma and will have PTSD attacks described.
The heroine is very kind and has compassion for every group, but this does not mean that she will act impulsively because of her own selfishness.
In the environment at that time, especially in the typical pyramid-shaped society of the palace, everyone was multi-faceted, and what they did was good and bad, but their multi-facetedness would not be represented by just one thing. Everyone has the limitations of his or her perspective in the times.
It is a non-traditional novel/online novel. This work uses the omniscient writing style of the narrator in literary novels. There is no fixed number of words in each chapter, and the story must be told until the end of this chapter.
Regarding why I chose the Imperial Palace in the late Qing Dynasty: The reason I chose this time period is because I don't want to write about another person who wields power. The group of eunuchs has always been a marginalized group that has been rejected by society and history. In this pyramid-like environment, they have no choice but to keep climbing up. The vast majority of those who can be recorded, or can be used as characters, are the few who sit below one person. And I hope to present an ordinary person who is relatively close to the group of eunuchs and is enveloped in suffering. I wanted to use the male protagonist Yin Cisheng to tell the life of an eunuch, his struggles and the love found in suffering. Therefore, since they had no choice, I chose a period for them and for the male protagonist Yin Cisheng, a moment when the outside world intervened and the building was about to collapse, so that this pyramid environment that imprisoned tens of millions of people could see its true face.
Purpose: Through the love story between the female protagonist and the eunuch male protagonist, we will explore the lives, struggles and selves of this group of eunuchs.
