Two survivors of the Japanese massacre in Lijiazhuang, Li Congyun and Li Binglan, were taken in by a kind missionary, Ms. Aiweide, who taught them medical skills and knowledge. Later, the two joined the passing Eighth Route Army without hesitation, and made friends Chen Weiguo and Tashi, starting a life of unrepentant life.
