My grandpa passed away. I have been writing some memoirs intermittently since he was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer 2 years ago. Now that I have collected and compiled them, I have a glimpse into the life and experiences of my grandpa and his family during the Anti-Japanese War. I also learned that my grandpa was also a Sichuan soldier who bravely resisted the Japanese and won the hero medal regardless of life and death. This article is only to commemorate my grandpa.
