Buddha often said that it would be 500 years after the Buddha passed away. Here is a Buddhist theory.
Buddhism believes that the period from the Buddha's residence to the 500 years after the Buddha's death is called the Dharma Era. The next 2000 years will be called the Age of Dharma, and the next 500 years will be called the Age of Ending Dharma.
On this day, the Tathagata Tathagata Dayin was giving a lecture on Buddhist sutras to the Arhats. He was talking about the past, present, and future three generations of Amitabha Buddha. He suddenly had a sudden impulse and calculated with his fingers. It turned out that his own calamity was coming. The Tathagata Buddha, who had experienced thousands of kalpas and was immortal, smiled slightly, didn't care, and said:
"I predict that the calamity is approaching, and Lingshan will be presided over by the Ancient Buddha and Guanyin Bodhisattva."
After saying this, he turned into a ray of light and left, preparing to be reincarnated. He was received by Guanyin Bodhisattva and returned to Lingshan Mountain.
After Duobao Taoist joined the Western religion, although he was promoted from Daluo Jinxian to quasi-sage, he still had to experience the catastrophe of regression of time power every five hundred years. He needed reincarnation and re-cultivation in order to reach the strength of sub-sage. In the Buddha's kingdom in his palm, he had been reincarnated for thousands of kalpas. When this disaster came, Duobao Tathagata did not take it seriously. Just as the true spirit was leaving the body and beheading the true body of Vajra, suddenly a ray of light broke through the barrier of heaven and earth and rushed towards the true spirit of Tathagata:
"Not good!"
Duobao took out a copper coin and wanted to collect the ghost light, but the speed of the ghost light was unimaginable. When the copper coin was activated, the ghost light had been mixed and crushed with the Duobao true spirit, and merged together. With the copper coin, the copper coin was also swallowing the ghost light and the Duobao true spirit, entangled together, and turned into an unknown ghost light. It broke through the barrier on the other side of the Three Thousand Buddha Kingdom in the palm and disappeared into the endless void.
