Yu Yijia has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) called "Asperger's Syndrome" (DSM-4, 2000) since she was 8 years old. Although she encountered many difficulties along the way because of this congenital developmental disorder, she remains optimistic and lives a heartless life.
After passing through junior high school and entering high school, she faced a new and unknown future. The person she liked in junior high school sat in front of her, and her aloof but occasionally funny deskmate was the second best in the district. The girl with twin tails could always tolerate her unconditionally... She, an ASD girl, and this group of warm people began a warm, interesting high school story filled with laughter and tears.
Youth is always inseparable from ignorance about feelings. She stumbled and moved forward step by step. It seemed that all her efforts were making the outcome worse, until one day, she looked directly at her destiny again.
People always grow up. Many years later, late at night in a foreign country, she began to miss her youth and think of the group of people who had shared the wonderful time of youth with her. Maybe everything was wrong and unreliable, but she could always find a solution.
So, many years later, she wrote about the girlhood wrapped in love.
You are the flowering period that is too far away in my memory, turning those too tacky words into a heart-pounding secret.
At that time, I wrote this text, on a night that I remember like last night, with tears streaming down my face.
Intention: Youth will pass, people will grow up, and there will be gatherings and separations. One day, I mustered up the courage to write down what I missed about the girlhood we had experienced.
