As the mother of a child with autism, every day I tell a fairy tale to my little angel. These stories are not only our daily rituals, but also a bridge connecting our hearts.
Every night, as I began to tell the fairy tale, looking into his curious and focused eyes, I knew that although he spoke few words, his heart was listening. In this world full of fantasy and adventure, we meet brave animals, wise princes, and gentle princesses.
Fairy tales gave me a window into his inner world. I saw his smile, his tears, his wonder, even his occasional giggle. These small reactions are more precious to me than the loudest applause in the world.
This journey is not always easy. Sometimes, when he seems distant or upset, I wonder if it all really makes sense. But every time like this, I will remember those warm nights, the innocence and wonder we experienced together in the story.
I believe that through these stories, I am helping him build emotional bridges, not just with me, but with the wider world. While his ways may be different, he is equally capable of experiencing love, joy, and wonder.
So, I will continue to tell these fairy tales and find the magic of fairy tales in the silent world, until one day, he can tell me in his own way that he also loves this colorful world.
