Perhaps it was because I saw the scars left behind that I remembered my unbearable senior year in high school, and the phrase "It's hard to beat someone to the death, and I will force you to death."
If only I hadn't heard her comments about me, then I would have continued to be self-righteous, thinking that I still liked her.
