The protagonist is a patient with mental illness (auditory hallucinations) and mental illness. He is afraid of contact with others, has no sense of security, and has persecutory delusions. He wants to break through himself and defeat the disease. He steps out of the house and through the process of finding a job, what he sees and feels, and a series of changes in his inner activities, he finally successfully defeats the disease.
