The story takes place in Jinling at the end of the Ming Dynasty. It describes the touching love story between the famous singer Zhou Jiqiu, Yin Niang, Bian Hongxue, Zheng Xiangji and the talented Li Han, the knight Chu Yunyan and the destined emperor on the banks of the Qinhuai River.
Before and after the fall of the Southern Dynasty, Zhou Jiqiu and other strange women emerged from the mud and remained unsullied.
