She has had a recurring dream for as long as she can remember. The dream was pitch black, with only a sliver of light just beyond her reach. Whenever she wanted to get close to that sliver of light, the darkness behind her would swarm up and engulf her. As she grew older, the darkness behind her always chased her for a while before catching her, and she got closer and closer to that light.
