- There is a bronze statue next to the Thames River in London. The rusty statue glows softly under the caress of the sun, reflecting in the eyes of every pedestrian passing by.
The sculpture is of two children standing with their bare feet and heads raised. They are both about seven or eight years old. The tattered and dirty clothes cannot cover up the innocence and hope radiating from their faces.
If you look carefully at the small words under the sculpture that are almost worn away by the sun, moon and wind and rain, you can make out: Lott and Lerissa, 1937.
