Dongchuan Copper Mine is a large-scale state-owned copper mining area and a key construction project in the first five-year plan. It has a long history. The mining and smelting of copper ore began in the Western Han Dynasty and reached its peak during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. Emperor Qianlong once personally wrote a plaque with "Nine Rings of Lingyu" in recognition of it.
After the establishment of the Mining Bureau in New China, aspiring young people from all over the country responded to the call to support the construction of the Dongchuan Mining Bureau. For decades, Dongchuan Mine made great contributions to the national economic construction of New China. By 2000, the Dongchuan Mining Bureau went bankrupt.
As mine workers, their lives, work, and love are ordinary and uneventful. There are many second- and third-generation miners, until today.
